what we believe

We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, and the supreme and final authority in all matters of life and faith. (2  Tim. 3:16, 17; 2 Peter 1: 20, 21; John 17:17; 1 Pet. 1:23-25; Heb. 4:12)  

We believe in one God eternally existing in three equal persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, who have the same nature and attributes but who are distinct in office and activity. (Mat. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14; Eph. 2:18; Heb. 9:14; 1 Pet. 1:2) 

We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless human life and  offered Himself as the perfect and complete sacrifice for the sins of all people by willingly dying on the cross. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended  into heaven, where, at the right hand of the Father, He is now our High Priest and Advocate.  From there He will come back to judge the living and the dead and establish His Kingdom.   (1 Cor. 15:1-9; Luke 1:35; Phil. 2:5-8, II Tim. 4:1)

We believe the Holy Spirit is the divine helper, assistant, counselor and instructor and His work is to reveal Christ, convict of sin, lead to repentance, guide  believers, comfort, strengthen, and sanctify the soul. (John 16: 7-11; 2 Thess. 2:7, Rom 8:9-17) 

We believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit mentioned in the Scriptures, and that they are valid for today if they are exercised within the scriptural guidelines.  We  believe that love is more important than any of these gifts, and without this love all exercise of spiritual gifts is worthless. (1 Cor. 12, 14, Eph. 4:11, 1 Thess.  5:19 -22, Romans 12:4-8)  

We believe human beings are the special creations of God, made in His image. They fell through the sin of the first man, Adam, and all human beings are sinners  in need of salvation. (Gen. 1:26; Gen. 3:6-24; Rom 5:12, 19) 

We believe that salvation is a gift of God and is received by man through personal faith in Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for all sin. We believe that man is  justified by grace through faith apart from works.  We believe in the security of the believer based on the Scripture. (John 3:16-18; 5:24; Rom. 3:21-24; 28; 5:1; 6:23; Eph. 2:8,9)  

We believe that the Church, the Body and Bride of Christ, is a spiritual organism made up of all born-again people who have given their lives to Christ.  We believe that the local church is an assembly of professed believers in Jesus Christ who are joined together in one locality for the purposes of worship, study of the Word of God, observance of the  ordinances, and the equipping for Kingdom service. (Matt. 16:18; 1 Cor. 10:32; 12:13; Eph. 1:22,23; Acts 2: 42-47; Eph. 4: 11-16; Heb. 10:24,25) 

We believe that the two ordinances to be observed by the Church during the present age are baptism and the Lord's Supper.  (Matt. 20:18-20; Acts 2:38,41; Luke 22:19,20; 1 Cor. 11:23-26) 

We believe that marriage is ordained by God as a union between one man and one woman and is intended as a life-long commitment. (Genesis 1:27-28,  Genesis 2:18, Matthew 19:4-9, Mark 10:5-9, Ephesians 5:31-33)
